L’Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation

There’s no better feeling than finding the perfect foundation that effortlessly becomes one with your skin, leaving that slightly dewy, natural look, and hiding any minor imperfections. It’s taken me many tries with different foundations and BB Creams to find something flattering that’s hydrating, stays on all day, and doesn’t stick to any dry patches, or has difficulties blending in.

About a year and a half ago, I picked a L’Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation in Nude Beige W3, which ended up being a shade too dark for me, but I absolutely loved how it melted right into my skin and created such a natural finish, and I used every last bit of the product until I was left with a dry sponge. I promised myself that in the future, I’d go back and buy another one in a different shade, but in the meantime, I wanted to experiment with other brands.

I finally kept that promise when I walked into Ulta today and excitedly exclaimed in the ever increasing line, “I found it! I finally found it!” For some reason, when I’d actually searched through the aisles before for half an hour, I could not find it. It figures that when you are in the checkout line, you always find the one thing that you need. So, I sprung towards the side, did a quick thirty second scan of what shade might work better this time, and picked up Classic Ivory N2.

When I got home, I washed off my previous foundation and applied L’Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation in Classic Ivory N2, and it was a perfect match for my skin tone. It blended effortlessly to the point that you couldn’t tell that I was wearing foundation at all. It made me feel like I was born with perfectly hydrated, luminous skin.

What I love about the packaging, is that not only does the product contain a mirror inside the lid, which is perfect for travel and last minute touch ups, but it also has instructions on the back for anyone who is new to using a cushion foundation, or a makeup newbie.

To use the product, you open the lid and take out the cushion, then open another lid, and take off the plastic cover to reveal the foundation sponge, and then take the L’Oreal cushion with the ribbon holder and press into the product. To apply the product in your face, you press and blend into your skin all over the face.

I have yet to find a drugstore brand foundation that can compete with this one, because it’s absolutely the best! From previous experience, the foundation will last a maximum of three weeks to a month, and although it is a splurge for a drugstore brand at Ulta for $16.99, you can find it for less at Target for $14.99,  Wal-Mart for $14.97, and Amazon for $12.10.

    1. Thank you! Definitely give it a try sometime. They are great to use for a natural, luminous look.

Just make sure that you use a matte powder as well to set it. I use Rimmel London: Stay Matte Pressed Powder.
