The Missing Autumn Spice You Need in Your Life

I love my Urban Decay: Naked palette, and have used it for close to two years on a day-to-day basis. It’s a great neutral palette combined with silky matte and metallic cream eyeshadows, shades of browns, gold, and bronzes, with a hint of gray and black that will always be your best friend no matter what kind of day you’re having. It transitions well from every season, and compliments any outfit.

The only eyeshadow that the palette was missing, which would be the icing on the cake with all the pretty sprinkles, was one with a pink tone. I wanted to find a palette that incorporated pink tones that would look stunning alone, but would also be perfect to pair with eyeshadows from the Urban Decay: Naked palette as well.

After much searching through every eyeshadow palette on Ulta’s website, I came across an unfamiliar brand called Makeup Revolution. The pictures of the eyeshadows from the Makeup Revolution: Iconic 3 Redemption Eyeshadow palette looked stunning, the reviews were great overall, and I had heard through the grapevine that it had a close resemblance to the Urban Decay: Naked 3 palette.

I was slightly skeptical about that last part, but given that the price was $7 for a full palette of 12 eyeshadows, the reviews were great, and there were a few pink toned metallic eyeshadows in the mix, all of the pros pretty much convinced me to give it a chance. So…I took a leap of faith and ordered it.

The moment the palette arrived, it looked beautiful. The colors shimmered through the sleek, transparent, and black plastic case. After swatching each eyeshadow on my arm, I realized just how much the eyeshadow pigmentation impressed me.

Now, note that each eyeshadow will need layering a few times to reach its full-color potential, especially the matte eyeshadows, but it’s definitely worth it. It’s also important to note that the consistency will not feel like Urban Decay’s creamy eyeshadows, but the overall visual of the metallic shades look like they would fit right into the Urban Decay family. Below are pictures and swatches of the Makeup Revolution: Iconic 3 Redemption Eyeshadow Palette.

The first picture of swatches are under indoor lighting, and the second picture of eyeshadow swatches are with natural light on an overcast day.

I know that in the future, I’ll definitely be purchasing more eyeshadow palettes by Makeup Revolution. The pigmentation is stunning quality, given that it isn’t considered a high-end makeup brand, and the eyeshadow wear time lasts through an entire seven hour work shift with primer. Also, if you need gift ideas for the holidays, Makeup Revolution palettes would make the perfect stocking stuffers.
